It took us almost a full day to produce nearly 13 L of hand sanitiser gels in lab scale. We decided to distribute the hand sanitiser gels to the needs - old folks home, children's home & those who stayed in the university including students.
We went to a total of 12 old folks home & children's home. We were then back to the university to distribute to the security guards, cafe operators and students who didn't go home.
Our hand sanitiser gels have channeled to a total of 12 charity homes in Penang:
1.Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged
2.Peter's Home Care
3.Penang Cheshire Home
4.Rumah Orang Tua Uzur Pulau Pinang
5.Persatuan Syukur Penyayang Pulau Pinang
6.Golden Petals Nursing Home
7.Pusat Jagaan The Penang Buddhist Association Senior Citizen Home
8.Defolka Penang Old Folks Home
9.The Salvation Army Penang Children's Home
10.Bethel Home
11.The Asrama Ramakrishna
12.Peace And Harmony Home
People literally didn't believe that we were actually giving out the hand sanitisers for FREE. A student even asked for the price with an attempt to open her purse. We were also glad to be interviewed by a student in journalism for our good deed. She went back to take her camera & gave us a few nice shoots.
Not to forget, we have the very unique experience of having our lunch in the car as that was the first day of partial lockdown in the country.
